What does it mean to be ACA accredited?

Accreditation means that the American Camping Association, an advocate for parents interested in camp opportunities for their children, has given us their seal of approval. A rigorous, multi-year process, accreditation has required that The Catalina Experience™ meet rigorous standards for organization, safety, health and program development.

ACA-Accredited® camps meet up to 300 standards for health, safety, and program quality including:

• Discovery, experiential education, and learning opportunities
• Camp communities committed to a safe, nurturing environment
• Caring, competent adult role models
• Healthy, developmentally-appropriate experiences
• Service to the community and the natural world
• Opportunities for leadership and personal growth
• Excellence and continuous self-improvement
