There is much more to Catalina Island than we can see! What we know to be Catalina is actually the top-half of a mountain located 26 miles off the coast of Long Beach. Pushed up from the ocean floor hundreds of thousands of years ago, the island tells a story of its colorful past. Equipped with a mission and their geologist tools, visitors will be led on a trek to discover what the island is made of and uncover some cool facts about the development of the island. Colorful rock formations, shallow caves, and layers of soft rock are just a few of the geological stops our campers will make on their geo-journey through the canyons of White’s. |
